Questions about verification

Can you guarantee a badge?

No. Each platform decides. We make sure the account meets the published criteria and that the application is complete, which is what gives it the best chance.

What is the difference between Meta Verified and the notable-account badge?

Meta Verified is a subscription from Meta that confirms your identity. The notable-account badge is separate and depends on coverage in independent news sources.

My account has a restriction. Can I still apply?

Not yet. Platforms do not verify accounts with active restrictions or strikes, so we clear those first through a recovery case.

Someone offered to sell me a badge. Is that real?

No. Badges cannot be bought from third parties, and accounts that try can lose them or be suspended.
